So some of you may know that I've been working closely with Kahtura and her Stridetherunway brand for some time now. We started working on her social media outlets sometime in February 2017. It's been so fun working with her because she gives me full design control i.e. lets me do any and everything lol. The great part about Stridetherunway's Instagram page is that it's always evolving so you may see some pink for a week or so then it all changes to orange! Like how cool is that right?

So we're super excited because she's now venturing into doing blogs! So I will leave a link to her blog at the end of this post along with her @'s to social media! But because we know we were going to be together again for the summer we decided to collab together for both our blogs.

It was very important for us to include fashion and a sense of tropical vibes into our collaboration! We didn't have much time so we searched Pinterest, made a board and somehow made it all work! For Stridetherunway she chose a black monokini with a yellow scarf as a head wrap which was pretty nice because it made her outfit pop!

For me, I went with a black and white one-piece bathing suit with a checkerboard patterned button down shirt as a head wrap (lol you have to be creative when you don't have exactly what you need!)

Go check out and follow Stridetherunway! Make sure check out her blog its offically live and beautiful!

Ok I'm finished with my wedding feed for now lol! I enjoyed sharing each of my favorite pictures with you this past week. It felt like I was able to relive every moment of it! Im going to share my wedding experience with you from start to finish.

Honestly, when people tell you that after months of planning, the wedding will be over in a flash, please believe it. Try your best to enjoy every second of it as it comes, blocking out everything else but your new hubby/ wifey. As some of you may know I am from the Bahamas but currently live in Pittsburgh; I know everyone always ask why would I leave there to come here. So you could imagine my excitement in the days counting down to the wedding; knowing that I would soon be home again. We were there for 10 days but it felt like three. It all boiled down to:

  1. The day before the wedding when we checked into the amazing Atlantis Hotel at Paradise Island. This was also the day my bridesmaids planned the best bridal party a girl could ask for, so a special thanks to them!
  2. The actual wedding day!
  3. The day after when I got the first real restful sleep since I went home.

We had a morning wedding that started at 11am so getting ready at the hotel was all a blur. The makeup artists had scheduled to come to the hotel at 4:30 that morning. I know crazy right! The only thing I remembered was looking up while getting my makeup done and realizing I was being filmed while still wearing a white t-shirt and black tights; instead of the laced bride robe I spent so much money on! So silly right? But at the time my main focus was to make sure everyone would be ready on time, not realizing that none of us had our robes on at the beginning.

I do remember wanting to be involved in everything to make sure I did not miss any special experiences which just was not realistic. For example, I can recall telling my bridesmaids not to put on their dresses without me because I wanted to be the one helping them for some reason. At some point during that morning the bouquets arrived but I did not notice them until we were getting ready to leave the room. They were some of the most beautiful flower arrangements I've ever seen.

My husband (Kita) and I had planned to do a first look at a special location in the hotel but we weren't able to go to the location because we were running a bit late. We ended up doing our first look in the hotel lobby, and let me tell you we did not want to take our eyes off of one another! I can remember coming down the steps in the lobby, and when I turned all I saw was his smile.
He walked over to me and said "you look beautiful Babe". The limo then came to take us to Luciano's of Chicago, which was the location for both the ceremony and reception. This was when reality started to set in and I realized that I would be married in the matter of minutes.

I think my father and I was more nervous about walking up the aisle than everyone else but once we started, it felt so much easier.

When Kita took my hand to start our walk up the aisle, I accidentally started on my right leg when we planned to start with our left! We just laughed and continued walking. At that point I realized that nothing is going to be perfect no matter how hard you try!

But it didn't matter; I was walking up the aisle with the love of my life. After that, it felt like we were in a time lapse video because of how fast everything moved.  Some of my highlight moments were:

  1. My first dance with my new husband!
  2. The father daughter dance (me and my daddy was extra nervous about this because none of us are dancers in any sense of the word).
  3. Throwing my bouquet.
  4. Cutting and sharing our first piece of cake.
  5. And of course 'The Shoe Game'

I can't tell you how happy I am about how everything turned out! We hired Five Seasons Events as our wedding planner and I was so pleased with everything she and her team did! They are truly amazing and knows the ins and outs of running a wedding smoothly.

Without her help our wedding would not have been the same. We were also lucky to have such great parents that not only helped us pay for the wedding but also helped us every step of the way when making some of the difficult decisions. Every time I speak to my Mommy she says "People still talking about how beautiful the wedding was" Thats awesome right? It makes me feel so accomplished.

I got so many compliments on my dress that was purchased from David's Bridal as well as Kita with his dapper suit that was custom made by Kedar In Style. To be honest, I was so nervous about the colors of our attire! When I purchased my dress I knew it was ivory but we weren't thinking when we told Kedar to make a white suit! I was freaking out a little inside but I knew it was nothing else we could have done, but luckily it wasn't so much of a difference and I don't think anyone else really noticed it!
