memories of february

United States

Can you believe that another month of 2024 is gone?

Time seems to be moving so fast these days. February was a great month spent with my family. I love activities that are focused on the month and we spent several days baking when we had the time. We didn't get out of the house as much as I would have liked, but I'm hoping that when the weather warms up and the sun shines more, we can do some fun outdoor activities.

My highlight of this month was making beignets for the first time with my husband and son. I had only a few expectations for them, as sometimes my recipes can be hit or miss, but they turned out pretty good! I want to try some variations next time and see how they turn out. I also loved setting up our living room for Valentine's Day for me and my husband's Valentine-inspired date night at home. It was super fun, and I'm happy that we can do this together, regardless of having a toddler and not being able to go anywhere around or after his bedtime. (this is a personal preference)

I would like to say to parents that it's okay if your dates are slightly different or always indoors or at home. I think that if you manage to take the time to spend together talking, eating, playing games, cuddling, reading, etc., that makes a whole difference than complaining about "not" doing anything or not being able to go out as you probably would have been able to. Being parents is hard, no lie, but keeping the love alive is super important, and I hope you take some time to spend together this week or month. ❤
